OKay sweetie. I'm here to help. 1st of all... all these chicks are giving 'ash' a bad name. As a professional. I can tell you, there's nothing wrong with a color that says ash as long as it's used correctly.
Now onto your problem. You definately need to go to a salon and get corrective color done. It will be expensive, but it's probably your best bet. If you can't afford corrective color, you can use store color, but make sure it's Loreal. Loreal is a professional product sold at a discounted price. Get one that has a RED base. For future reference.... green nuetralizes red tones. Red neutralizes green (ash) tones. More than likely your going to have to go to a darker color and let your hair 'heal' for a while, then go back to the blonde. The ash will not go away on its own. It will fade some, but not enough that you'll be happy. If you have anymore questions, feel free to email me at aspen10118@yahoo.com

Go to a salon and have it done professionally. I reccomend Visible Changes, if you have one.

If you decide to dye it again, make sure it isnt snything called "ash" which tends to look grey or even green on most hair; was your hair dyed blonde to begin with before you went swimming?

O.K. Well chlorine is a chemical and is horrible on porous hair.... Then on top of it all you go and put more chemical.tsk tsk... a professional will help but first try a few known remedies in the hair world. Because your hair is so porous right now try Woolite or even baking soda. Non damaging and will pull the ugly ash blonde out. Make sure your condition well so you don't end up with a ratted mess to comb out. The thing is the ash will fade. BUT for immediate results no more store chemicals Please see a professional and next time tie up or keep your blond hairdo out of the chlorinated water pool or hot tub..

You should either go to a hairsalon or dye it black or blond.

Thank you Aspen! Good advice.
Allow me to add, to anyone out there who colors their hair, or has it professionally done, Chlorine Bad Very Bad! If you must swim in a chlorinated pool, protect your hair color investment!
wet hair thoroughly with tap water before entering pool
apply a leave-in conditioner and comb thru to create a barrier
use a clarifying shampoo after swimming to remove chlorine

Wolfie.... You need a correction that ONLY a trained professional can accomplish. Do NOT, under any circumstances, try to fix this at home...or you will end up as I did-looking like a squirrel-head...I had long gorgeous hair to my waist and I almost LOST all my hair. So save yourself the stress, hassle and money and just go to the professional salon first.
