my mum has the typical african balck curly hair and my dad the typical europaen blond straight hair. that gives me some wierd curls that look really nice when wet, but i feel like a mushroom when they have dried...are there any tips? ive tried loads of stuff already, including gels...

you need to find a stylist that can cut your hair well. not all stylist can cut curly hair. if you go to this website it will help you find your stylist in your area. not only that but it is a great resource for the curly girls to express their opinion on products that have worked for them.

change ur avtar hairstyle. carry a shower with u everwhere(specially to ur workplace). go bald. sue ur parents. plant real mushrooms on ur head. sell them later on.

Use Some conditioner which is there to enhance the curls of hair.... which is advised to use after having ur hair perm...that product will give ur hair a more stable look even after drying

My hair sound really similar to yours. I also tried EVERYTHING!!!!
The cut is the most important thing. Find a great hairdresser and get them to put loads of layers in your hair and thin the bottom. This should reduce the mushroom look. As for products to keep it looking good - serum is the only thing that worked even a little bit on my hair.
As the previous answer said, it depends on wether you want straight or curly hair. I went for the straight option and used straighteners to do it. This killed my hair so I went for the straight perm which is amazing. I highly recommend it!

citrus fruits are also good for the hair.. and seaweed has a lot of vitamin a. vitamin a can be found in leafy veggies and carrots, especially. it is important to drink enough water to keep ur hair hydrated. 8-10 glasses is suggested for healthy hair growth. also, iron plays an important role in maintaining and growing healthy hair. iron brings oxygen to the hair, allowing it to breathe like us basically

and so if u dont take enough iron.. ur hair will be starved of oxygen and lose its shine, luster, etc.
b vitamins are also great for the hair. salmon, coldwater fish, and sardines are great fish that contain many of the vitamins hair needs.
