How to get two tone hair to one color?

I have dark reddish (dyed) hair in the back, and used garnier's highlight stuff for the front to make it blondish last night. I don't like it at all. It's kinda orange in the front. My hair is very healthy, still feels soft, and it isn't brittle or anything like that, even with me slamming chemicals on it three times in two weeks (I did a wash out black dye two weeks ago). I'm just worried about the color. Can I dye it all to a soft permanent black? Will the color go on evenly with the front being blond, or will it just make my hair all fall out or something? Does putting black over orange blond look okay?

Step away from the PC. I am here to help you....

Color is listed in numbers 1 being BLACK all they way to 12 which is light blond. Now what you think is black is actually a dark brown. A nice medium to light brown will even you out from root to ends. I have to tell you this I am a colorist and in all honesty you can come to one of us and get it done right and well for like $25., really it is alot easier for you to take over than for you to get it right out of the gate.Going with a semi-permanent will give you alot of safety leeway and give you options to go with other colors. You can get free consultations at ANY quality salon. Ask questions and you can have a great time with color.

I want to know where the heck I can get my hair dyed for $25. The cheapest I've ever seen, other that diy, is $34 and that's at Wal-mart. Report It

Go to a salon for a consulation. Don閳ユ獩 try to fix your hair and then go to a salon. Save time and $$, go get it done right. Your hair may FEEL healthy but in reality it's probably damaged. When you color your hair or style it with a heated tool you're damaging it. Hair is forgiving to some extent! Report It

Where can you get your hair colored for $25? Last time I went to a salon it was almost $100 for a cut, dye, and tip!

That's why I now just dye my hair at home. Report It

Dye the front the same as the back and start from scratch. Do not use Black, it is too harsh and too hard to get out. Use a neutral or gold base color. I am a hair stylist, believe me it will work. Report It

I reccommend a full head shave. After hair is removed, allow hair to grow back. Hair will come back in one solid color.

I did this my sophomore year of high school and had no problems with it. The only thing I was dissatisfied with was that the black was too monochromatic. Normally when I dye my hair the new colour has highlights due to the variations in my natural hair colour but with black it was just that straight black. As far as it all falling out I dyed my hair red, then added platinum blonde highlights, then dyed it pink, then black, then added red highlights all in a span of less than a month. Afterwards my hair was still soft and intact so I get the strangest feeling that all this "your hair will fall out if you dye it too often" is bollocks.

if you buy the right kind of hairdye, black generally tends to distribute evenly. but black is a very permanent color, especially if you use permanent hairdye and you might not be able to recolor it if you ever decide to do that again. but you could try re-coloring the blond the same color as the red in the back. but that might not work as well as the black because the hue isnt as powerful, and could turn out being a bright red if you dont do it correctly. you COULD try dying the blond part black to have black streaks in the front, and that might look really good. but if youre scared to experiment with the color yourself, go to a professional.

NO The color will not go on even. NEVER put a black on the hair. WAY to dark. You should go with a medium brown or go to a beauty school where the instructor can help the students with this problem. That would be a cheap way to get it fixed.
